It is more than obvious that the present path being taken by the Israeli leadership will NEVER lead to peace. The foundation of the state of Israel meant vast and terrible injustices foisted on the Palestinians who had lived on the land for centuries. If this conflict is to ever end Israel must first acknowledge the role it played in the dispossession of the Palestinians, the theft of their lands and the destruction of over 400 of their villages. . Israel must come to an immediate decision that if they want to continue to exist not as a pariah state in the eyes of many in the world but as a full fledged member of the world community the occupation must end. Israel has two choices ahead of it. One is the total evacuation of all settlements built after 1967along with all settlers unless those settlers want to be citizens of a Palestinian state. The second option is a democratic secular state for both Jews and Palestinians with all the refugees allowed to return to their homeland. Otherwise this conflict will continue forever. Since Israel is by far the most powerful country in this conflict it is up to them to make the first move. There are great injustices by Israel that must be addressed. Hopefully it is not too late.
