The disaster of the Orthodox "single standard" in Israel is extreme alienation to the point where so many secular Jews here are anti-religious that tens of thousands of young Israelis a year choose to leave the country to marry elsewhere in order to escape what they see as the Orthodox strangle hold on their personal lives. Has this not created a similar problem in our homeland over who is halakhically Jewish by marriage and birth?
