So a political party faces reality in government. Thus Haniyeh is compromising with other Palestinians. But any Hamas-Fatah evolution into co-existence is not the basis for peace with Israel. There is NO one law one gun. There is NO restraint on armed resistance groups. It is well known that there is NO prospect of any deal on right of refugee return with Abbas and that Hamas will NOT concede one inch of 67 land. Israel has NO will to share Jerusalem with a nation which hosts terrorist groups. ?act now and get better terms. We have a partner already, Abbas. The terms Abbas will agree to will probably be more comfortable to Israel than what Hamas would insist on.? The good cop bad cop thing is simplistic. Would Abbas really agree to the deal you would like to think he would and then get a majority of Palestinians to agree. Then close down terror groups to impose the peace you want? If so, why only after Hamas was elected? (Ignoring the illusion that if you/the right person was Israeli PM it would have already happened ? .)

Netanyahu climbing out of the Rahav, the 5th submarine in the Israel Navy's fleet

Netanyahu trades Israel's democracy for a shtetl with German submarines

Tossing Arab MKs out of Knesset was a new low in Netanyahu's assault on democracy, but de facto, Israel is already an ex-'Jewish democratic' state.
