Populist is a man like Netanyahu, who speaks and does what is pleasing his constituency's ears and inagination, then changes it according to opportunity and political calculations. It generally an irresponsible leadership, centered in the ego of the populist leader. The mass protests in Israel are POPULAR, not "populist". Nobody's one ego is selling promises for votes. Nobody is being irresponsible in claims, nor changing them according to personal agendas. Perhaps Netanyahu is so used to his populism, that he lost the capacity to understand a popular, not self-interested movement, arising in front of his nose.
