Burston asks too easy a question, the answer to which is not even controversial. But here is a good question to ask: If the terrorist PRC organization attacks Israel, should Hamas be attacked in retaliation? The answer is not easy, if you just observe what is happening today. According to Israel: "The Hamas terrorist organization is the address, and it bears the responsibility." The IDF first hit and killed 4 senior PRC commanders, but for the rest of the day, the air-force hit general "military" targets, presumably of Hamas, in response to which over 30 rockets were fired at Israel. Hamas was at a cease fire condition, and the IAF bombings are drawing it into the fight. The question is: Is this wise policy or not? One can come up with a theoretical justification for Hamas being the "address", but does the desire to hit "someone" back is wise in the sense of going into another serious confrontation which Israel does not know how to end well?
