Foxman is absolutely right. First, the claim that Israel is responsible for the various crises in the Middle East is false and absurd. Such rhetoric is propaganda fed by Muslims to distract Americans from the threat of Islamic terror. Second, the Obama administration has failed in its so-called engagement policy with Iran and Syria. This failure is the result of bad policy. Linking the Iranian nuclear crisis with the Palestinian issue was a tragic blunder. Iran, as has been stated by members of the administration, by NATO members, as well as by Sunni states, is a clear threat to world peace. Third, the endless public criticism, and even overt hostility, manifested by Obama and his closest advisers toward Netanyahu has led to the present crisis. Although Israel depends on the US for certain arms and political support in the Security Council, it remains a fact that Israel is a sovereign state and a long standing ally.
