While it's easy to say, hey why shoot a thief! It's just not that simple, in a country where terrorists will kill entire families at Passover dinner, your decisions must be quick. 20/20 hindsight is great but can't be used in these situations. If they called out, fired warning shots and they kept running, what do you do? Let them go? Of course not, here in the U.S. the police can shoot a fleeing felon, but of course Israel is denied the right to self defense. Any course of action Israel takes whether violent (shooting back) or non-violent (build a fence, create a blockade) will be criticized. So in the end only the people at the scene can make that split second decision. Sadly, they know whatever they choose the anti-Israel writers will criticize.
