President Ahmadinejad is speaking as one who has the full support of Iran's Supreme Leader and his circle of intimates. Clearly the Iranians are terrified of modernist tendencies in the younger generation and wish to create a heightened climate of crisis with which to crack down on any possible domestic opposition. Iran is ripe for revolution and a war with the West, it is becoming clearer and clearer, is the mullah's only recipie for domestic cohesion. The radical clerics who are the real rulers in Iran know they are playing a dangerous game. Day by day we see with this gratuitious and dangerous rhetoric that they are more than willing to take everyone with them comes the day they feel themselves losing their grip at home. Begining with, but not limited to Israel. A word to the wise: By the time everyone in the world realises what is happening, it will have been too late. The old saying is that if you wish to have peace, prepare for war. Clearly this no longer applies. Prepare for war. Because as surely as you breath, war is coming. Whether the EU cringes in meek terror immediately beforehand is the only remaining question.
