In order to be part of these castes one has to be born from a Levy or a Cohen father. Furthermore, it is forbidden for the Cohanim to marry converts. Shlomo Sand seems to have forgotten this detail when he wrote that 0% of contemporary Jews have Hebrew ancestry. But anyway, the right of the Jewish people to the land of Israel doesn't stem from the bible or our DNA. It stems from the fact that we have the right to self-determination just like any other nation. And the most logical place for the Jews to exercise their self-determination right, is in their historic homeland, the same as for any other nation. As or those who base their anti-Zionism on the fact that Palestine was already occupied by another people, they should be reminded that the Jewish people was homeless. This is why it was justified to divide the territory, so that both peoples can have a state of their own. Asking nations that already possess a quite large territory to cede a part of it to a homeless nation, has nothing to do with "imperialism" or "colonialism". Wanting all peoples to have a state of their own is the opposite of imperialism.
