I definitely think Sarid wrote a masterful rebuttal in prose and substance to the nonsensical claims made by Wiesel's "open letter" to Obama. My view is, Jews will have to decide on which is more important to them, to have this delusion "Jerusalem is the undivided eternal capital of the Jewish people" or to be the "eternal people" once again? There was a time the slogan of the "eternal people" reigned supreme. now real estate has taken it's place. As Sarid points out, life is more important than memories or myths? Jerusalem has always been a pluralistic multi-ethnic city. To ignore that reality and insist on it being "Jewish" only and implementing policy of Judaization that goes against history will only invite a repeat of the past tragedies filled in Jewish history. Nothing will galvanize the Muslim world against Israel more than continued provocations in Jerusalem by the hard right regime of Netanyahoo. The Muslims will respond to Judaization with their own of Islamization - already funds in the billions are aimed for that purpose from Gulf states. Iran undoubtedly loves to see Israel continue with it's provocations in Jerusalem - and now Turkey is riled by such actions. You don't want to awaken the sleeping giant - but knowing Zionists - the Masada complex rules!!
