The book is fine. I had the chance to know it's author, the late Prof. Bar-On, and I invited him to present his work to an audience of Bnai Brith. And I'm politically left. Nevertheless I think Prof. Golbert has a point, saying "history is not about narratives". The situation is similar, on very different grounds, with the "creationism vs. darwinism" debate in the US. There too is a group demanding to teach both narratives, the biblic and the scientific view of the creation process. And there too education authorities are opposed to that, saying: "teaching the bible, yes, but not in biology classes". Conclusion: the book should be taught, but not in history classes. The proper subject in the school curriculum will still have to be found.
