Klein #5 talks about Shalit as if he'd approve of Clinton or any other US representative talking, let alone making a bargain with Hamas to get Shalit out when the Israeli current government is unable to negotiate without an effort to exile Palestinians. The current Israeli government doesn't want Shalit. They want a martyr. Gaza under siege is not a US National Interest. The US should pursue US National Interest and let Israel pursue its own which is not always synonymous. If the current Israeli government wants Shalit released, they know how to pick up a phone. They also know the costs.
