although they are preferred use against hardened targets because of their "steel" casing, and they are usually configured as "smart" bombs. however, they are NOT transported in that configuration. also, they are part of a standard number of munitions utilized by the air force, and their shipment to any region does NOT necessarily mean anything. there's plenty of them sitting right next door in both iraq and afghanistan. why would THIS particular shipment suggest intentions against iran? diego garcia is over 3000 miles away from any target in iran. it's also a naval resupply base, which makes it much more likely that this shipment is nothing more than a routine replenishment. the story sounds like the figment of an overly active imagination.
