The perspective expressed by Liel goes to the heart of the problem. His claim that Israels primary foreign policy goal since its inception has been "transforming our enemies into peace seeking neighbors" is complete nonsense. I think most observers believe that Israels goal was and remains territorial acquisition. Invading and occupying your neighbors is "trying with all our might to end the hostility to us"? Lials delusional attitude is pervasive - he speaks of the "establishment of the state" but he cannot define Israel. Where do the borders lie? Is the Golan Israel? Gaza? Sinai? West Bank? Southern Lebanon? It is now and has always been a battle over land, pure and simple.
