"Liberal" zionism, like the dreaded one state solution, is a recipe for abolition of Israel as the national Jewish homeland. A state that is founded on the premise of equal treatment of those who work to deligitimize, disenfranchise and abolish it is not sustainable. As long as the Arabs choose to see implementation of their rights mutually exclusive with the implementation of Jewish rights, one must prevail and the other must perish. This is as much a fact as the sun rising tomorrow, as shown by the century of their attempts to destroy us - before AND after their "Nakba", before AND after the occupation, before AND after the Oslo accords. No amount of smoke and mirrors can obscure this point, on which the "liberal", "non-ethnocentric" zionism is inevitably premised. We - the Israeli Jews, the Zionists - have to come to terms with this simple and unavoidable problem - as Zhabotinsky already have in his "Iron Wall." If you haven't read the "Iron Wall" then you have no right to call yourself a Zionist. The communists in USSR were baffled by this problem as well. How come, they thought, that so many people refuse to participate in the glorious socialist train to the commune? It's better like that for everyone, they reasoned, and promptly started executing people as a way to silence political dissent. Alas, the Zionist cat is out of the liberal bag. So, when you say that 90% support Cast Lead and IDF's actions against the flotilla, maybe it's because these are morally justified and necessary actions, and if they don't fit YOUR values, then it's YOUR VALUES that are the problem.
