Admittedly successful aliyah is tough especially because of culture shock. We in the grassroots Israel Anglo folk community throughout the country have proven that aliyah retention is greater when a warm accepting community extends a welcome hand to newcomers making this an extended family experience. There are so many examples of people who have found both jobs and mates at our music venues as well as a bit of the old country mentality & vibe to help ease into this new challenging environment. If Nefesh B'nefesh or other olim organizations hook into what we have ongoing for so many years, this would surely be a mutual win win for all concerned.
