If any national leader has to choose between national survival and an ephemeral detail such as foreign aid....well, the answer is rather obvious! (for those who argue that Israel cannot survive without US aid, look at India which hasn't exactly had pro-US policies throughout and has oft been hit with sanctions by US; it has survived these sanctions and come out stronger)
