Always interesting to read Mr. Levy's column. It seems he is one of the very few sane voices in Israel. However, he goes to the core of the problem with the above statement. Integration was never part of the zionist plan. They were looking for a home for the jewish people - just the jewish people. Hence the widespread expulsion and killing of arabs during the foundation of Israel. The fact that they didn't manage to cleanse the land of non jewish people has not diminished the desire to one day achieve this goal. What is happening in Israel today is not the deterioration of a once noble dream. It is the culmination of a vile creed.
