What child, born to a couple on an isolated island, would turn into a Jew, a Christian, a Muslim spontaneously? Yet what child born into a family of any religion is able to break free of the "education" received? How carefully we are channeled into beliefs that we hold so dear as to fight over, but that have no more basis in truth than that elders "told us so" Rare is the child that isn't mentally imprisoned long before it knows what freedom of thought is. Israel started off on such a promising note with the kibbutzim - the rugged individuals who bent their backs for their daily bread. But Ben-Gurion made a fateful bargain with the religious and now it's steadily downhill as those whose minds are rigid with this or that peculiar variant of theology, dictate to the government on what it can and can't do. Secular Israelis! When the next Gaza flotilla arrives, let it unload, jump on board the empty boats and make a break for the U.S. You're welcome here!
