This morning, the first thing I read was Gabi Ashkenazi's testimonial at Yad Vashem about his father and 6000 other Jews who were about to be deported, only for the order to be cancelled, thank G-d, a few hours later, when they got to the train station. Then I see the word deportation again, in this context of the West Bank.I start reading and feel immediate consternation. It is as if I were deported. So I am glad that Haaretz has taken a stand and come out against this order. What have we learned? Shunting people about against their will. No justice, no peace, for anyone.
