'We came here to feel safe. Now my children refuse to walk to school alone, just like they did in Paris,' French émigré says after twin attacks in Ra'anana.13:27 13.10.15 | 9 comments
Very well argued Amira. The Israeli public in large has been fed a diet of bigotry and incitement. When schools both secular and religious teach thier pupils and students that this land is an exclusive Jewish property and the native Arabs who live on it are illegal squatters who should be expelled to the desert. No wonder the collective mindset of Israeli society has become hostile and even racist against anyone who is unfortunate enough considered a native. As Palestinians, we are at the receiving end of this vile and inhumane yet deeply rooted attitude. We often feel that most Israelis have lost thier humanity and moral compass by supporting the occupation. We fail to understand how young Israeli soldiers posing as soldiers at the many check point littering our country can actually enjoy humilating people old enough to be their grandparents just for the sake of it. The list goes on and on however, I would like to salute great people like Amira, Akiva and others whose humainty and conscious stop us losing faith in any future peaceful coexistence between us and our Jewish cousins.
