Your view is very interesting for me. I grow up in a reform family with connection to a coonservative congrigation, in Israel. I started wearing kipa around high school, for torah studding, couple of years later, I added wearing it for eating, and for the past ten years I wear it all the time. The main difference between kipa and had cover is that it has no connection to being married. It has to do with believe and faith.
