Beilin is quite right in everything he says. Until we come to terms with the underlying problems (the creation of a viable Palestinian state, agreement with Syria regarding the Golan, the refugee issue, Jerusalem, arab recognition of Israel as a Jewish state) there will be no peace. We cannot afford to be led by the Americans who have no real interest in these issues, but only in a naive urge to create "democracy" and to fight "evil."
