" it is believed that Syria, bellicose declarations notwithstanding, has no real interest in a direct clash, from which it will emerge battered." What a load of gobblegook. Who believes ? Who decides when Syria means what is says..in part of the article Harel takes it at its words and when it suits him not...without explaining why. "Has no real interest? " Wow what an analysis...it could be argued differently..but what the hell. WOuld Syria emerge battered ? Well, if we battled like we did in Southern Leb ...we would only play around for a few weeks and not do anything really damaging. So why not go to war with us ? After all..civilian life in Syria is not worth much to them right. This article is a load of unsupported opinions and assumptions...ending with the oh so emotive call for arms against any such "miscalculated" war as - costing a lot of money. Money well spent I'd say.

How Isaiah gave Hebrew its word for vagina

If St Jerome and other experts are right, Israelis may have thought that 'pot' meant vulva, but actually they were saying cup. Or forehead. Or maybe something else.
