Leave aside the question of whether one agrees with him. In essence, Levi is demanding a certain level of moral restraint in Israel's struggle with her opponents. One could disagree with him: feel that the bar should be set lower, or set higher. But that's not what the bulk of the posts contain: instead, they are ferocious denunciations of Levy as a 'traitor,' a 'self-hating Jew,' etc. Obviously, the very concept that Israel should be subject to any moral limitations at all is intolerable to some people.
