The Philistines were pagans who came from across the Medertrainian near Greece, they were not natives the way the Jews were. The palestinians as they call themselves today are not descendants of the Philistines they are simply Arabs and the ancient arab homeland is in the Arabian Peninsula not the Holy Land. Even the idea of calling themselves Palestians to try create a history is nuts. There was never an independent state of Palestine. The name Palestine is the english translation of the Latin Philistina which s what the Romans renamed the Kingdom of Judea in an attempt to deligitimize the Jews after the revolts. Prior to 1948 the palestinians was the given name to anybody who lived in the region that was still being called Palestine ( arabs and Jews ). Its the PLO who invented the idea of this long palestinian history and it was done to give credibility to their cause which was to destroy Israel and since oslo the world has bought into it.
