It doesn't matter too much what Israelis think at the moment, the current situation has been diagnosed to be against U.S. interests so the U.S. is going to fix it somehow. While this may not be easy it is preferable to Washington to having a lot of body bags being shipped home from the Middle East and problems with disruption to their oil supplies. Haaretz has already reported that new construction permits have been unavailable in East Jerusalem for over a month now.Akiva Eldar wrote yesterday that Obama doesn't care what Bibi says as long as construction does not happen on the ground. WHEN Abbas agrees to negotiations we will know that he is convinced that construction is not going to happen for duration of talks. My guess is that point is not that far away now.
