the sovereign state of Israel and a UN member state: 1948, 1967 and 1973. Syria has used the Golan to bombard and shoot at civilians in their homes, at field workers and fishermen at their places of work inside Israel between the years 1949 and 1967. Syria has been part of the coalition consisting Iran-Hizballa-Syria-IslamicJihad-Hamas that has set out to wipe Israel off the face of earth, the Golan being a launching pad for that. Syria has had its chances and missed them. Therefore, if Syria wants to live in peace with Israel, ahalan wa-sahalan, you are welcome, and what you will get from Israel in return is peace and security and good neighborliness. After so many years of fucusing on death and destruction from which the Syrian people has suffered as well, that is a very good offer to the Syrians. The Golan is off the table!
