Assad doesn't attack Israel but Hezbollah has in the past and will again. In the end unless Israel is aggressive about stopping delivery through Syria it will end up fighting and destroying Hezbollah, but at great cost in lives in Lebanon as well as in Israel. Whatever Israel does about Syria to stop shipments from Iran the worst is yet to come for Israel and Lebanon. For my taste I hope the US ignores Syria and Israel bombs Iranian shipments through Syria delaying the unavoidable conflict with Hezbollah, but then acting immediately and decisively when it becomes unavoidable. Time is on Israel's side and the best strategy for the US is to help Israel to arm to the teeth for conventional warfare against Hezbollah, with Israel leaving its nuclear weapons at home unused.
