While fully concurring with #3 Mark Lincoln, I must point out to him and others that Syria has never lost a war to Israel. Despite the loss by the Syrian army of its campaigns (which Israel deliberately chooses to elevate to the rank of wars), the only war between the two belligerents, begun in 1948, has not yet ended, while hostilities have been interrupted by ceasefires. Please distinguish between wars and campaigns or operations - the latter are conducted by armed forces, the former by states, and the loss of campaigns may not bring about the loss of a war. Let us wait till the war between Israel and Syria is brought to its definitive end.
