I may be Muslim and supportive of Palestinians, but protesting because a synagogue - that has been on this site for at least 300 years, as I undrstand - is being restored is just plain wrong. It is not on the doorstep of the mosque and it doesn't disrupt Muslims from praying. Why then is this such a big deal? I can't help it but think that Hamas is just using this as a pretex to grab power in WB. There are so many other grievences that could spark another intifada. Why create one where there was none before? This kind of behaviour by the Palestinian leadership(Hamas) only undermines the struggle for the end of occupation. Building new homes for settlers in East Jerusalem, and demolishing Palestinian homes is wrong, so it should be protested. Protesting the dedication of a synagogue is just plain power play by Hamas.
