Howdy Swiss; Countries do not negotiate on the basis of what a private citizen says. Meshal holds no public office in the PA and has no authority to speak for it. I'm in favor of Israel and the PA beginning "final status" talks as the Egyptians suggested, but I'm not optimistic about them going anywhere. The Palestinians will present their demands, the Israelis will present theirs, an attempt will be made for a compromise, the Palestinians will reject it, everybody will walk out in a huff, and everything goes back to square one. It's amazing how the media jumped on Meshal's use of the words "Israel" and "reality" in the same sentence and is reading a lot more into it than is there. Even the word "Israel" must have stuck in his throat since he usually pronounces it like "the Zionist entity".
