Israel supports the status quo. In thirty years the status quo has not come close to bringing peace or a Palestinian state, but it has produced a lot of Israeli settlement expansion. Nobody in the world supports Israeli settlements. It is also worrisome that Israe has an undisclosed nuclear arsenal as well as undeclared borders? Where will it end? Nobody knows. Even more worrisome is the fact that the American government seems unduly influenced by Israel and the Israeli lobby. Obamas UN veto, which supported Israeli settlements, in spite of official American disapproval has people wondering if it just Obama that is nuts or will American policy regarding Israel always be nuts. Either way, the world will get around the roadblocks to peace set up by Israel and America.
