Is his guilt any surprise? Ramon's behaviour is consistant with his political party's (Kadima) very essence. Its leaders, notably Ariel Sharon, are opportunists and self interested to an extreme. A recent poll of Israelis found that 74% of the polled believe that Kadima is a party of "personalities", not of ideology. Its leaders, as are too many of Israel's, seem to feel entitled and above the law. Sad, but not surprising in a country founded and nurtured in violence and illegality. Ramon is not the atypical Israeli, but, rather, reflects basic Zionist values.
