Under Aharon Barak, and now Dorit Beinisch, the Supreme Court has appropriated the functions and provinces of the Knesset. The court has promulgated laws, and decided cases on the basis of opinion not law. More so, The Court has taken control of the appointment of the Attorney General, who in turn, has taken control of government decisions based on his option to indict, or not indict, Prime Ministers on corruption charges, if they don’t, or do, carry out the policies he favors. It is about time that the Supreme Court's power was reduced.
