The need to preempt Iran and export gas to Egypt was the reason the government gave to push through its controversial plan for Israel's natural gas. Now, this reason may no longer exist.03:48 31.08.15 | 0 comments
Iran is feared in the region in part because they are very smart and also because they not considered full Arabs (Persians have some Aryan blood). Religious differences comes later. If Iraq falls to Shia rule, Syria and Lebanon which have sizable Shia minorities will be emboldened to challenge their Sunni Lords. So, the Sunnis are busy countering, but have incredibly complex political maneuvering. While America and Israel are natural allies to stop the threat, the Sunni world is slow to come around for obvious reasons. Sunnis probably wish Sadam was still around to act as a buffer, and so does the rest of the world. Democracy, for better or worse.
