    He probably meant that he doesn't know the *doctrinal* difference between them, not that he doesn't know that an actual difference exists, because he obviously does know the latter. Before everyone gets all smug about "how stupid he is", ask yourselves if you really know the substantive difference between Sunni and Shiite Muslims.
