I don't have any confidence in any missile defense system working perfectly, so you had better have a lot of bomb shelters. As we did in Iraq, you may "win" the conventional ground war, but an insurgency that will follow, or may even begin, wirth the "conventional" war. With Iraq, I expected the insurgency would follow the war, but it was also part of the "conventional" war. I think that was a mistake, because they were playing to our strength in a conventional war. But the mistake was tactical and not strategic. In the log term, it made no difference.
