Suleiman has cooperated with Israel before on things like security related issues and he gets on well with some senior members of the IDF & politicians so for sure Israel likes him and wants him as the next president. Israel doesn't give a damn about if the Egyptian people like the man or not we want him because he will do as he is told by the US and the political situation with Israel will probably stay good. Mohammed El Baradei might be the darling of the Europeans but the US & Israel don't trust him and he represents the Muslim Brotherhood and will be much more hostile to both Israel & the US in the name of standing up for Egyptian people and their independence etc and if the Brotherhood have a major role to play in government then relations with Egypt could go way downhill and Egypt may even refuse to recognize Israel again and smuggling to Hamas increase. For the sake of regional stability and to make sure there are no future wars with Egypt we need somebody like Suleiman who will stay on good relations with Israel & the US sadly he represents the Mubarak regime and is not one of he most loved politicians in Egypt so its unlikely he will get elected.
