Sure this fellow had a lot of pressure put on him after the publishing of his novel. What is absurd about the article and thus many of the replies, is that the word "suggested" is used throughout the text. "Suggested" what the hell does this mean. Did he say it or not say that jews killed Christian children. I have not read the book, thus I have no Idea what he ACTUALLY wrote. "Suggesting or implying" does not make it a fact. Are we dsicussing whimsy here? The author's enlightenment reminds me of a quote from Nathan Weinstock. Who is Nathan, he is a gentleman, a former Marxist, who back in the late seventies authored the title "Zionism, False Messiah". This essentially set out the Marxist line regarding Israel. In 2003 Nathan Weinstock wrote "If I had known when I published the book that it would become the bible of anti-semites, then I would never have written it." I would suggest that Haaretz quotes lines from the book "suggesting".
