"Israel, in trepidation of Egypt, felt they must submit to Egypt?s demands." - David Twaddle. Nothing but BS. Israel invaded Egypt to create a 'reason' for France and England to seize the canal. This was a conspiracy between the three nations, and the US opposed it. The US went so far as to arm AD squadrons on our carriers in the med with atomic weapons and brief the pilots for strikes on the French and British fleets. Eisenhower came down hard on all three nations and as all three were totally dependent upon US good will at the time, they backed down. Israel did not submit to Egyptian demands as you state.

Why the Jewish establishment won’t condemn the occupation

Unless more U.S. Jews who oppose the occupation become members of established Jewish organizations and donate money, the establishment is unlikely to heed calls of those who want it to condemn the occupation.
