    I wish it were economically possible for Israel to refuse every gift with strings attached, and to tell the donors to pound sand. Every small thing in Israel has some donor's name painted on it. No one wants to give big anonymously. Then those ego-driven donors complain Israel is a "schnorrer State." I also wish it were possible for Israel to forgo the (relatively tiny) $3billion it takes from the US annually. That $3B costs Israel far more than $3B in loss of face.
