I believe Strenger's intentions are good but perhaps because the facts are too grim to address, he leaves out crucial factors: why keep assuming settlers will be evacuated when much of the middle IDF office corps, not to mention the balance of political power, is rightist religious, secular rightist and settlers themselves? Who will do the evacuating? Why assume Israel will ever agree it's time to evacuate the Jordan Valley when they're expelling Palestinians from it now and settling Jews there...w/ obvious intent to stay. And w/ stand-off military technology and satellite surveillance, what rationale is there for IDF observation posts in the the W. Bank? The Palestinians are being offered a newly "dressed up" occupation, not a state!
