Interesting to have a look at military thoughts. It is probably their task to make assumptions. Nonetheless, the presentation is too rough. Comparing Syria with Iraq under Saddam is incorrect. Syria has always treated the kurds better than Saddam Hussein did. In the first Iraq war Syria joined the western alliance. But the capabilities to work in a detailed way are naturally limited for air force members. The latest Lebanon war taught us this. Anyway, the diplomatic efforts should be pursued, since military is always a consumer of gross national product without constructive output in return. Military probably has always a little interest in preserving tensions which gives them a justification for their existence and makes sure they get money. Statements by military personal should always be studied with adequate distance.
