On TV and in the press what I am seeing and reading about is children (teens) being used on the front line to confront the IDF. Where are the adults? I have long despised the terrorist tactic of using young people while the older more mature adults set back and manipulate. Is that what we have here? Isn?t it interesting that most of the violent, or at least aggressive, protests have been by outsiders and most of them have been teens? Who is inciting them? Where are there parents? I love the ultra-Orthodox. I love them for their piety, devotion to Talmud and Torah, and many other things. But, they have been given way too much power in Israel, and they have botched this, and are in fact inciting Jew vs Jew hatred. When the second temple fell it was largely because of what the Talmud calls brigands. Read Tractate Gittin, 56a and 56b. In that reading the Talmud tells us that a stringent ruling by a Rabbi, when a leniency was in order, set in motion the events that lead to the destruction of the second temple. Even if you only take that story as allegorical it is still powerful. It is time for us to reevaluate. Many times in history our most dangerous enemies have not been the ones outside trying to breech the walls but they ones inside with us.
