The Palestinians are not the Blacks of South Africa or the American South. Nor are they the poor of the third world as those don't drive BMW and shop at malls. Hence, the conflict with the Palestinians has nothing to do with the struggle for the rights of the exploited classes all over the world and hence should not be part of the debate about the military occupation by Israel of the west bank and the blockade on Gaza. Here we have a purely ideological (political) conflict between two peoples, Jews and Arabs, (a conflict which parallels the larger conflict that exists today between the Muslim world and the west), with the state of Israel serving as a symbol and main focus of that conflict. This is not to say there are no exploitations of the weak and poor in this story, but the weak and poor are not necessarily Palestinians, and the rich and powerful are not necessarily Jews. Indeed, this confuses the simplistic and dogmatic left.
