it doesn't but sadly everyone is so quick to defend any criticism, no matter how slight, that they fail to read, listen and understand. Eldar merely explains that an opportunity may have been missed to work with regimes that were clearly open to finding a settlement for the conflict - there are no accusations towards Israel regarding the goings on of it's neighbours. With countries like Egypt openly saying they will honour the treaties put in place during previous regimes, he is speculating that had we come to a comprehensive peace agreement for Palestine and Israel, then that too likely would have been honoured....the missed opportunity is that your new regimes in the region may not be so easily led up the garden path and accept so many concessions. Which is a valid argument, although i think that no one can really be sure those old regimes aren't still there, ppl like Mubarek may have gone - but the system is still very much in place.
