    For decades, American taxpayers have subsidized Israeli settlers. If all American aid to Israel was stopped, then Israel would have to decide whether to spend additional billions for defense or to continue to put it into settlements. Every penny America gives to Israel subsidizes the settlements that the American government is criticizing. If America wants the settlements stopped, they must first stop the aid to Israel.
