Mr. Benn, have you seen one single thing - not hollow words - an act, which indicated that either Bush or Olmert ever intended the "peace summit" to succeed? Has not every tangible action by both the US and Israel fit a pattern which indicates that both view the 'summit' as nothing but a sham? The current governments of the US and Israel have no interest in peace in the middle east and have intended the 'summit' to be nothing more than a show to conceal their malevolent intent in starting a few more wars. This is a shame, for the damage done to the US will be sever - not physical so much as the destruction of what little influence and prestige it has - but for Israel, a small nation with an already high cost for defense, it will be more costly. When I look back 40 years it astounds me how the real threat to Israel has declined. 40 years ago the threat was INVASION as it had been 19 years before that. Even as late as 1973 the threat was INVASION on two fronts. It is not so now.
