The alternative to a theocracy, you claim, is "a nation-state formed by the majority of its citizens that exists for them and their security". This is still nonsense. Israel - like all other states - also has its minorites, and the state does not exist only for its majority. Indeed, that is the real objection to the nonsense about oaths to Jewishness and recognition of the Jewish state: that it, quite deliberately, excludes a very substantial minority. Even the nastiest states in the world take an inclusive approach to their minorities: the Chinesse claim that the Tibetans are Chinese, and do not demand loyalty to a Han state.
